Chasing Blue in Cabo: My Favorite Color in My Favorite Vacation Moments

Super Executive Suite with Jacuzzi Pueblo Bonita Sunset Resort

If you look through my travel photos long enough, you’ll probably notice something about me: I love blue.

There’s something about the color that instantly puts me in vacation mode. Maybe it’s because blue reminds me of clear skies, beautiful water and that peaceful feeling you get when you're somewhere far away from your normal routine.

So when we arrived in Cabo San Lucas, I felt like I had stepped into my color palette.

Blue Everywhere I Looked

One of the things I loved most about Cabo was how many different shades of blue surrounded us.

There was the bright blue sky overhead, the deeper blue of the ocean in the distance and those gorgeous turquoise tones closer to the shoreline.

Then there was me—in blue, of course.

I brought this light-blue swimsuit and sparkling cover-up on the trip without realizing just how perfectly it would complement the scenery. Once we stepped onto the balcony and I saw the ocean behind me, taking photos here wasn't even a question.

Recreate My Cabo Blue Look 💙

Blue became the theme of this Cabo moment—from the ocean views to the swimsuit I wore while relaxing on my resort balcony. If you love this vacation look, I found my pieces on Amazon and linked similar travel essentials below so you can recreate the look for your own getaway.

My travel companion became my photographer for the moment, and I think we captured exactly how I felt that afternoon. Happy, warm and completely in my element.

Apparently, I Pack According to the Scenery

I don't think I consciously planned an entire blue moment, but looking back at these pictures makes me laugh because everything somehow coordinated.

My swimsuit was blue.

The sky was blue.

The ocean was blue.

Even my drink joined the theme.

At that point, Cabo clearly understood the assignment.

After taking photos, we settled into the balcony and enjoyed having nowhere we needed to rush off to. We had already spent time experiencing Cabo together, so it was nice to have part of the day where our biggest decision was whether we wanted to relax by the jacuzzi or just sit and enjoy the view.

Why I Love Blue So Much

Blue has always felt peaceful to me.

It's beautiful without demanding attention. Depending on the shade, it can feel glamorous, tropical, calm or even powerful.

Travel has made me appreciate it even more because some of the most beautiful places I've visited are dominated by blue. Standing somewhere new and looking out over an enormous stretch of water gives me this incredible feeling of freedom.

Cabo delivered plenty of that.

I could have stared at the view for hours.

And being able to share it with someone made the afternoon even better. There are certain travel memories that become special because of what you did, and others because of who was there to experience them with you.

This was a little bit of both.

A Blue Cabo Memory 💙

Whenever I look back at these photos, I'm going to remember more than the outfit.

I'll remember walking onto the balcony together and seeing that ocean.

I'll remember the warmth of the Cabo sun.

I'll remember taking way too many pictures because the lighting was too good to waste.

I'll remember kicking off my heels afterward, grabbing a drink and relaxing beside the jacuzzi.

And I'll definitely remember being surrounded by my favorite color in just about every direction.

Maybe that's one reason Cabo looked so beautiful to me.

Blue skies. Blue water. Blue swimsuit. And one very happy traveler. 💙
