A Private Ocean-View Jacuzzi in Cabo: Why I Loved the Super Executive Suite at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach

One of my favorite things about staying in Cabo San Lucas was realizing that sometimes the best part of a resort isn't something you have to leave your room to experience.

During my stay at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf & Spa Resort, I stayed in a Super Executive Ocean View Suite with Jacuzzi, and the private outdoor Jacuzzi quickly became one of my favorite features of the room.

The resort sits along Cabo's dramatic Pacific coastline, so the ocean views are incredible. But travelers should know something important before booking: this isn't the Cabo resort I'd choose specifically for swimming in the ocean. The Pacific surf along this stretch can be powerful, and swimming from the resort's beach isn't generally recommended. That made having our own private water experience right outside the suite especially valuable.

The Super Executive Suite Is HUGE

This wasn't a small hotel room with a hot tub squeezed onto the balcony.

The Super Executive Ocean View Suite with Jacuzzi is approximately 1,088 square feet and accommodates up to six guests. Expedia currently lists the configuration with two queen beds and a double sofa bed, while Pueblo Bonito describes its Super Executive Suites as having a private bedroom, living area, dining space, fully equipped kitchenette and an expanded terrace with a private Jacuzzi. expedia

That's important if you're comparing room categories because the regular Executive Suite is also spacious, but the resort specifically identifies the larger terrace and private Jacuzzi as upgrades of the Super Executive category. Pueblo Bonito

The Private Jacuzzi Was the Unexpected Highlight

The Jacuzzi felt much larger than I expected.

As you can see in my photos, there was enough room to actually stretch out and relax rather than simply sit upright in a tiny two-person tub. The water jets made it feel like a genuine spa experience, particularly after spending the day walking around the resort and exploring Cabo.

And that Pacific Ocean backdrop completely changed the experience.

Instead of having to get dressed, pack a bag and find a spot around a communal pool, I could walk outside and enjoy the water from the privacy of the suite.

That ended up being particularly useful because we couldn't safely get into the ocean during our stay. Having the Jacuzzi didn't replace experiencing Cabo's beaches, but it meant we could still have that relaxing water-and-ocean-view moment without leaving our accommodations.

The Overhead Cover Made a Bigger Difference Than I Expected

One feature I haven't seen talked about enough is the structure over the Jacuzzi.

In the middle of the Cabo sunshine, having shade and some visual privacy overhead made the space considerably more comfortable. I could enjoy the Jacuzzi during the daytime without sitting completely exposed beneath the sun.

It also made the terrace feel like an extension of the suite rather than simply an outdoor tub sitting on a balcony.

For couples, romantic trips or anyone who simply values having some personal space on vacation, that semi-private atmosphere is a major selling point.

Is the Super Executive Suite Worth the Upgrade?

For me, yes—if you'll actually use the Jacuzzi.

If you're someone who spends the entire vacation away from the room, you may not get enough value from upgrading solely for this feature. The resort itself already offers multiple pools and a long list of amenities; Expedia currently lists six outdoor pools in addition to the property's hot-tub facilities. expedia

But I would seriously consider the Super Executive Suite if you're planning a:

romantic Cabo getaway • birthday trip • girls' getaway • longer resort stay • relaxation-focused vacation • trip where you want substantial private outdoor space

I particularly liked having it for the slower parts of the day. Not every vacation moment needs to be an excursion.

Sometimes luxury is simply being able to walk outside your room, turn on the jets and look at the Pacific.

Jessica's Cabo Tip

If you're comparing rooms at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, don't assume every Executive Suite includes the private Jacuzzi.

Look specifically for the Super Executive Ocean View Suite with Jacuzzi when you're booking. Expedia currently distinguishes it from the standard Executive Ocean View Suite, even though both are approximately 1,088 square feet. expedia

I'd also compare the price difference for your actual dates. If the upgrade isn't dramatically more expensive, the private Jacuzzi and larger terrace could be worth paying for—particularly if ocean swimming is important to you and you want another private way to enjoy the water.

Before You Book Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach

The property is located in Paraiso Escondido in Cabo San Lucas, overlooking the Pacific. All of the resort's suites have an ocean view and a private balcony or terrace, according to Pueblo Bonito. Pueblo Bonito

One thing I appreciated about staying here was that the resort could be part of the vacation itself. You don't necessarily have to leave every morning and return at night. Between the views, pools, restaurants and having our own Jacuzzi, there were moments when simply enjoying the property was enough.

And after realizing we weren't going to be getting into the Pacific directly in front of the resort, I appreciated that private Jacuzzi even more.

Would I book this room category again? Absolutely—especially for a Cabo trip where relaxation is the priority.
